I have an Automator action written two or three years ago. I cannot update it for Mavericks because the nib file is an IB 3 nib file with a dependency on the old com.apple.automator.AutomatorPalette plugin, which is apparently no longer used in Mavericks. In Xcode 5.0.2, attempting to open the compiled .xib file presents an alert saying "The document 'main.xib' could not be opened. Could not read archive." The "Document Editing" area in the "Interface Builder Document" palette is disabled (dimmed) so I can't change it to Xcode 5. When I use Terminal to run ibtool's --upgrade or --remove-plugin-dependencies commands on the project's nib file, I get an error message saying that ibtool can't open the nib file because it can't find the plugin.
So, what can I do to upgrade this Automator action? I don't want to abandon support for Automator.
