Your "requirements" are directly self-contradictory.

I'm sure there's no one single way the Finder is looking. It will be looking for Bonjour multicasts from OS X file services, and CIFS/SMB, and NFS, and who knows what else. Regardless, it's pretty easy to turn off sharing services on a Mac so that it does not show up at all in the Finder.
