Did this get any further? I found there is a Devices section but, unlike previously, it only shows currently connected devices. As soon as you disconnect them, they disappear and I couldn’t find a ‘show me all the devices you know about’ button anywhere. If that’s the case it doesn’t seem as useful as before when you could browse crash logs you had previously downloaded and work with them offline. Seems they are still on-disk somewhere as plugging a device in instantly shows old logs before it downloads new ones.
Similarly you could previously drag a crash log onto any device in the organizer and Xcode would attempt symbolication using what it had cached about that device, that usually at least managed to symbolicate your own iOS app code (ps when are OSX users going to get auto-symbolication??), now it seems you can only drag onto the window for an actual device you actually have connected, even if it’s a worse match for your crash report than another hidden device and despite not really having anything to do with having a device plugged in, especially if it were sent to you by yet another irate user.
I’m sure there’s a reason for the change but I can’t instantly think what it would be. Perhaps there were enough bug reports asking for ‘those disconnected devices to stop cluttering up my screen’ for the feature to be removed but unless I’m missing a display option somewhere it seems less useful than before.
