Dave, I hate superfluous animation as much as the next man due to the delay and unwanted distraction, but didn't we solve this?

Didn't clicking it to make it closed keep it closed?  Is it magically appearing again without your permission?

The reason I ask is, I’ve noticed today that if I start a Debug session and the Stats Panel appear, if I click the button to hide it, it takes at least 0.3 seconds before it actually hides it and sometimes it takes up to a second before the panel is hidden. I’ve noticed that if I click the hide button while my App is running, if I catch it just right, it hangs XCode with a Swirling TechniColor Pizza of Death every time.

The amount of time wasted on this useless panel is ridiculous - Just get Rid of It, it doesn’t show anything worth seeing and it’s causing problems!
