If Xcode complains about not having a constraint that I don’t want to give it and/or I don’t think it needs, I give it the constraint that it wants, then inspect that *constraint* in the Attributes Inspector and switch on the checkbox “Placeholder … Remove at Build Time”.

I don’t know if that is correct, but it usually works for me.

Digressing a little,

There are two ways to interpret that:

• You can give it *either* Y position or height and the issue will be solved.
• Xcode is not smart enough to know whether it needs Y position or height, or maybe both.

Does anyone know which interpretation is correct?
