Practically you can do this, but you cannot create provisioning profiles for both with the same bundleid => you can't sign your binary -> it cannot go to iOS store or Gatekeeper will yell at you.
BTW beside provisioning profile iTunesConnect disallows you to do this as well (you cannot register second app with the same bundleid ).

You can use the same name but you can’t use the same bundle ID.

Note that some features (like iCloud keychain) can use entitlement group IDs instead of bundle IDs, so you can share some data across platform app versions as if they were the same app. You piece this kind of commonality together feature by feature, though.
