It's doable for OS X development with the helpful use of
https://github.com/devernay/xcodelegacy which provides support for
deprecated compilers and OS X SDKs using newer Xcode and OS X
versions. It doesn't support iOS as mentioned on that page and it's
unknown if it can work, but you may be inspired by the script it uses.
