A “developer profile” is a file created by Xcode that contains:
- Logins and passwords for the accounts used by Xcode
- Your provisioning profiles
- Your signing identities (i.e. keys and certificates)

Alas, I still got the “you have a developer profile in the Member Center but it is not installed locally” message.
FWIW, iCloud keychain only syncs passwords; certificates and keys are not synced.
