If I lose days and hours because of painfully broken functionality, the last thing I is the spare time and motivation to write up a proper bug.
It is all I can do to share it here after working 44 hours straight and 3 days with 4 hours of sleep.
Seriously.
A large part of this was verifying why push failed in our GMC iOS candidate app because Xcode 1, does not give enough room to display the full name of the profile it says it is using in archive and export and 2, the damn control to drag the provisioning profile name column to the left IS INVISIBLE (death to minimal UIs) and 3 it signed the IPA with A DIFFERENT profile than what it said it was using. It's resulted in our team testing APNS push with an IPA that had a wild card provisioning profile (possibly without the proper entitlements) and because of this push didn't work until I found out that the IPA had the wrong profile and developed a procedure to verify that it had the right one.
God dammit Xcode. Put the English readable name after the hash when you download and save a provisioning profile locally and we won't have to rely on special case solutions to verify that. xcode is doing its job. Jesus fu**ing Christ.
