I just noticed that I my Mac's user's cache folder that there are 10 GB of .dmg files within the Downloads section of the Xcode cache.
They seem like the installers for the documentation, and the simulator installs for iOS.
com.apple.adc.documentation.iOS-90.9.dmg com.apple.adc.documentation.iOS-91.7.dmg com.apple.adc.documentation.OSX-1011.10.dmg com.apple.adc.documentation.Xcode-700.10.dmg com.apple.adc.documentation.Xcode-701.12.dmg com.apple.pkg.iPhoneSimulatorSDK8_1-8.1.1.1434581536.dmg com.apple.pkg.iPhoneSimulatorSDK8_3-8.3.1.1434581536.dmg com.apple.pkg.iPhoneSimulatorSDK8_4-8.4.1.1435785476.dmg com.apple.pkg.iPhoneSimulatorSDK9_0-9.0.1.1443554484.dmg com.apple.pkg.iPhoneSimulatorSDK9_1-9.1.1.1446593668.dmg
If these have already been installed and I'm using them, why does Xcode keep them here and eat up 10 GB on our hard disks with these files?
Are they safe to delete?
No wonder my SSD keeps running out of space. What gives?
Thanks,
