Yup. It is now. The first beta had strange wire-frame icons (at least on my
MBP). The second had them also. And some things missing. While playing with the
Xcode app this evening
I copied the 10.12 SDK into it. Afterwards I trashed this install of beta 2
then unarchived and installed it again (from the same archive). Now I get
decent-looking icons and everything
is there. And yes, there is both a Window and View icon that produces the
desired xib files. No idea what I may have done to have missing items
immediately after the first install.
Perhaps I should learn how to use storyboards in future projects. My legacy
projects don’t need or want them, and when I need to prototype something for a
legacy project I will still
need to create xibs and not storyboards. At least with some work I will be able
to continue to do so. My usual practice is to delete the Window in object the
initial xib, so at least it
isn’t a big step.
I’d still like the (hidden?) option, though.
