Actually, in the Outlook Express 5 folder of the Outlook Express folder,
which you may have kept in Applications (Mac OS 9) or anywhere you felt
like. I.e., it resided in the same folder as the OE 5.0x application file.
I think that OE 5.01 on Mac OS 9.0 (perhaps 8.6) first made a Microsoft
User Documents folder in which to put Identities folder, in a 'blessed'
Documents folder, if you had one, on your startup disk. If you had no
blessed Documents folder, it went on using the OE folder.
You can actually put it - or , more sensibly, the whole Microsoft User
Documents folder, anywhere you want, on another partition for example, as
long as you put an alias in the correct place (an alias to the MUD folder in
the Documents folder).
