Yes, it can. It can work with either method. The MUD folder is a much better
idea than using the OE folder: when you update the app (which is always by
dragging/copying a new version in toto from a disk image to hard disk, not
by using an uninstaller to install over a previous version) and then trash
the earlier version, you don't accidentally trash your data as well. also
you can keep the data (the MUD folder) on a separate Data partition (with an
alias in Documents) so if your startup or applications disk is hosed, all
your data, including OE data, is safe. It's a very sensible system. They
were evidently trying it out pre-Entourage, which has only that MUD method
for data. I personally feel much more secure using this method.
