described isn't necessary -- most clients have the feature
built in.
If you will take a look at Richard's original post in this thread you will
see that his address is anything but hidden:

Spammers can therefore find his address just as easily as anyone else's
address. So this wonderful feature to which you are referring isn't doing a
very good job of protecting his address from spammers. ;)
umm, what? i don't think you understood me at all. nor would
i call suppressing the recipient list forgery, though i've
no idea what Richard was up to there.
i guess i was too abstract. i was just drawing a connection
between your use of the To line to filter your email and the
need Richard expressed -- it seemed to me the filtering
built into email clients could do what Richard wanted.
(off-line i've heard his obstacle is some sort of
awkwardness in MailSmith's filter interface.)
