screensaver and expose

  • Subject: screensaver and expose

Hi all,

If I start the ScreenSaverEngine.app from my program (with either a system("/System/Library . . . ") call or using an NSTask) or even from Terminal I have the nasty problem that it axes Expose. Since the pretty command-tab window also gets nixed I'm assuming that's part of the Expose code (maybe not, though). Interesting fact: If I lock the screen and log back in, Expose's back. The question is: How do I call the ScreenSaverEngine.app so that it doesn't axe Expose? Apple seems to be able to do it (surprise!), but how do I?

I imagine this will get piped to "Expose doesn't have public API's", but I thought I'd ask.

Thanks,

Michael
