This is not at all related to the encoding of the source file. The @""
notation doesn't allow for anything but 7-bit ASCII. Read the
ObjectiveC PDF that is distributed with the developer tools!

[demime 0.98b removed an attachment of type application/pkcs7-signature which had a name of smime.p7s]
