I understand how frameworks work, your "smart" remark is unnecessary. In the absence of a good argument for really needing to install a framework in the library folder you shouldn't do it. (Sherm's scenario, for instance, would be a valid reason, but as a general rule you should avoid installing them.) Saying that it is placed there so it is "available" to other apps isn't an argument unless you're Apple. Other applications can include whatever frameworks they need in their own bundles.

And you are saying that permissions are not modified by drag and drop, some
folders have admin or root write-only privileges so drag and drop doesn't work.

If I try to drag something to an admin-only privileged folder the Finder will ask me to authenticate. Problem solved.

The discussion about who likes or dislikes installers and their opinions
isn't related to Cocoa development, try looking outside the box at what is being
discussed.

It may be mildly off-topic, but it is still related to an aspect of Cocoa development (or Mac development in general) called "shipping your product" and how to do so in the most user friendly way. Perhaps you are the one who should look "outside the box at what is being discussed."

(And might I gently suggest that if you wish to end this discussion so badly you should abide by your own words and stop replying to this thread?)

/brian
