Brian the framework is placed in the library folder so it is available to
other apps, even you should know this.

And you are saying that permissions are not modified by drag and drop, some
folders have admin or root write-only privileges so drag and drop doesn't work.

The discussion about who likes or dislikes installers and their opinions
isn't related to Cocoa development, try looking outside the box at what is being
discussed.
This is a waste of time and space to continue on ones opinions since his
problem has been solved and no longer being discussed, how do I know this, I've
personally spoken with him so all that is being discussed now is peoples
opinions which are a personal preference only.

The original poster's question was about installing an application and
a framework. It is _not_ necessary for those files to be placed in
"certain locations," as the framework can and should be placed in the
app's bundle not anywhere else.

Unless the Apple installer needs to place frameworks or other files in
/System (as they occasionally do) there is no reason for them to use
installer packages either. It violates their HIG because they say the
simplest way to do it is to use drag and drop yet they never adhere to
that themselves.

This topic is very related to Cocoa development.
