You also need creator code for AppleScript/AppleEvents support.

The test, I believe, is whether you set a creator code in any of the
documents you create. If so, there is a potential for collision with
other applications, which the creator-code registry is there to
prevent.

As I understand it the bundle signature is still used for finding
the app a file type is to be opened with (set in file info or
otherwise).
I just can't seem to find the definitive statement one way or the
other.
