Excellent point! That would be pretty damn important.
But as creator code is pseudo-kinda-alittlebit-deprecated, has Apple
ever indicated what changes it might make to Applescript had we all
abandoned them as TN2034 wanted us to?

You also need creator code for AppleScript/AppleEvents support.
