Problem with launching other application

I have the following problem: I wrote the code that launches other application (Macromedia Flash MX 2004)
I tried to perform it in several ways:
1. [NSWorkspace launchApplication:appName];
2. system("open -a Flash\ MX\ 2004")
In both cases I encounter the following problem: under 10.3 version it runs normally, however under 10.4 version
whole system halts and doesn't respond. (however if I type "open -a Flash\ MX\ 2004" in the Terminal window everything works perfectly)
All other application launches without any problem using both methods above. The only problem I have is Macromedia Flash MX 2004. Have anybody else encounter with the similar problem?
