IB, multiple table views, and view resizing

  • Subject: IB, multiple table views, and view resizing

All,

I have a view that has two (soon to be three) table views in it. Each table view is the width of the parent view, minus (20?) pixels on each side - whatever the HIG recommends as a guideline and IB offers as a guide. Each table also has "add" and "delete" buttons below it. When I resize the window, the buttons are a problem, because they float.

So I have a couple questions. First, is there a description anywhere of exactly what the springy lines in the "Size" inspector in IB actually mean? I've gotten approximately the results I want by fiddling with them, but in a case like this I'd like a more formal definition of them. (Is there more detailed documentation on IB in general anywhere? The help is often impenetrable....)

Also, is this something I can do just by including a number of controls in a parent view, or is it necessary to create a subview for each table-and-buttons grouping?

Charlton
