Wow, that's a really flawed assumption. I would say that the vast, *vast* majority of users run their machines as admin, as most of them have no idea what admin is, or even what a multi-user system is, and new Macs come with one admin user created, and auto-login set, by default.


The number of users who change this default setting and run as a non-admin is certainly far smaller than that of those who don't.

Well, that's like saying people use UNIX and don't understand the dangers of running as root. If you are ignorant, then you deserve to get burned. If you are worried about security, then pick up a book on security and read - and discover that running any UNIX machine as root is dangerous.


UNIX is designed to allow the system to be run as root - if that is what you want - if you allow that to happen, you will have security holes. That, by definition, is UNIX.

Blame AT&T Bell Labs, not Apple.
