Nope. That would work for languages that only use the basic Latin
Alphabet, but Unicode does decomposed character sequences and other
things, which *may* turn a character with an accent into several. So,
if I typed Command-Ü (U with diaresis) on my German keyboard, what is
fed in might actually be "U¨" which is two characters. There are other
languages for which it's even more complicated.
But one can specify unicode characters with '\uu00FC', no? Probably
this is not the same in obj-c.
