They're "drawn using Core Graphics so they ... scale". I like this idea; I don't like using fixed graphics for my buttons, which is what I do currently. ExitToShell() also offers 'membrane buttons'.

They *are* very pretty, but I think someone should publish the code that actually draws some of these 'pro app' style buttons rather than charge the developer community for a button control. Understand that I'm not disrespecting the author of those controls; they're very nice and s/he has every right to charge for the work. I just feel s/ he shouldn't. ;-)

Were I 'more of a developer', I'd figure it out and publish the code myself. Alas, if I want pretty CG-rendered (scalable) versions of these buttons, I'll end up paying ExitToShell() a total of $10 to use theirs.

Anyway, Howard, if you send me a pre-compiled test app (if you own these plug-in controls), I'll happily run it on Tiger for you and send you a screen shot. Just remember to build in the "Deployment" or "Release" style (no offense, just worth mentioning).

I haven't.

Is there something those buttons do that a square button isn't capable of?
