What's the reason for wanting to above the menu bar?

I find it very convenient to be able to drag the CPU floater either to a corner or onto the menu bar, so I'd like the same functionality.

Assuming you also want to do some floating status window, what about using NSStatusWindowLevel?

Unfortunately, that does not help. I've tried various levels, so I fear it must be some other setting or window mode that needs to be enabled.

Strangely enough, if I manually set the window frame to a position within the menu bar, it displays fine and I can drag it around, but the minute I drag it down onto the desktop, it locks me out from moving back up.

Thanks,
