Select two views and Layout -> Make subviews of -> Split View. The
vertical splits in iTunes and Mail are custom, though.
Yes, I know how to make a split view. I was wondering how I would
go about implementing a custom one, that is used in most
applications now.
You say that like it should be simple. It's not too complicated, but
you have to know stuff.
You are a Cocoa newbie? If so, I'd recommend Aaron Hillegass' "Cocoa
Programming for Mac OS X (2nd Edition)". It covers the basics (and
some advanced stuff too) of Cocoa programming very nicely. It's $33
at Amazon right now, less than 1/10 the cost of an Alesis Micron.
Unless your time is worthless, you'll expend way more than $33 worth
of time trying to learn Cocoa by scouring the internet for tutorials
and whatnot.
