Yes, the open panel does preselect (show) the correct directory, but
the file within the directory is not preselected.
Are you sure you have the path correct? Does it work if you specify
the types to be able to select "dat" files only? It should work
with nil, though I haven't tested it. It works for me when I have
the selectable types specified.
Well, I've tried every combination of parameters I can think of, but
I have never been able to get the open panel to preselect a file like
the documentation suggests is possible.
