It'll behave differently than NSRectFill(), but it'll behave just like every other drawing call, because all of them usually take graphics state from the context. And since people expect the call to use the context's current color, it's likely they already know about that state.


So, I'd still say that we wouldn't lose anything significant if NSRectFill() and NSRectFillUsingOperation() vanished under a huge rock. You could just change the operation on the context for that one case where you actually need a different operation, and it would remove ambiguity from the libraries.

And in addition prevent this question from popping up on this list ;-)
