In ColorBlind Edit, version 3.X and above, editing the white point of a
profile is quite easy (so is yoga when you have practiced for years).
First, in Edit's preferences, the mode must be set to "advanced".
Second, after choosing an output profile as "destination", under our
"options" menu, we simply have a "White Point" option. Choosing "White
Point" will bring up a dialogue that will allow you to edit the white
point of the output profile. The UI displays the L*a*b* value currently
residing in the white point tag and allows you to edit the white point
in L*a*b* with the "after" readings next to the "original". A "whiter"
white point usually yields a higher L* value (Lightness), and a* and b*
allows control over chromaticity. The a* and b* indicate color
"directions" +a* is the red direction, -a* is the green direction, +b*
is the yellow direction, and -b* is the blue direction. The center a* =
0 and b* = 0 would be achromatic. Color is introduced to the white point
as a* and b* values move away from 0 (+ or -). Once you have made your
corrections, hit O.K and save your new profile.
Viola....you are now ready for the "Lotus Pose"...good luck!
BTW...My favorite acronym is TWAIN (Technology Without An Interesting
Name)
