We are a printing company that is having problems with customers
providing us with Photoshop EPS files where they have selected
"PostScript Color Management" in the EPS options when the file is saved.
Usually the postscript color management being saved is for their inkjet
printers, thus there is an adjustment of the whitepoint. When we go to
output these files to film, our imagesetter's RIP (Heidelberg's Delta
7), adjust the whitepoint as if it where the inkjet, resulting in images
that do not resemble the Photoshop image.
We convert all of our documents to PDF and use Pitstop to preflight, but
we cannot seem to ID these files prior to output other than resaving all
Photoshop EPS files or opening the files in BBEdit and searching for
"whitepoint".
Does anyone know of a simpler method to spot these files, such as with
an Applescript or some other utility?
