when you open a camera file using Photoshop (6 I hope) it probably
warns you you don't have an embedded profile?
If you ask Photoshop 6 to <not colour manage this file> the file will
be displayed presuming the setup RGB workingspace [the logic is that
Photoshop has to presume something].
Now if it looks bad [Nuclear or just wrong] you need to use the
Assign profile procedure and try profiles until your file has the
correct appearance. it's a good bet that the space with the best
appearance is the space closest to your camera's native RGB.
