do you think the nuclear apearance of his file when he uses the
bigger spaces means Carl is just assigning different
workingspaces/profiles or opening non colour managed with a big space
selected in colour setup? - therefore the different appearances?
I guess his answer is to try assign the profile [workingspace]
nearest the camera behaviour, perhaps sRGB will do it. Whatever looks
best is best IMO.
Irrespective of whether sRGB is the ideal space for your purposes
Carl, if it's the nearest to your camera's output then there is little
point in using anything else. Perhaps the high gamut colour data which
would fall outside sRGB but inside Adobe RGB(98) was never available
from your camera in it's present state. Lots of digi camera
manufacturers will output sRGB as it is the <lowest common
denominator> colour space which kind of works without colour management
-straight to an average PC monitor screen.
