I just downloaded and ran the demo on both my Mac running OSX and my PC
running XP SP2. My Mac is attached to an Eizo CG21 and my PC is attached to
a Mitsubishi 19" CRT. Both monitors are sitting side by side. I use my
EyeOnePro in conjunction with basICColor Display 3.0.4 on both machines. I
used the exact same calibration targets on both systems: D50 / L* gamma / 90
cd/m2. The calibration was a breeze on both systems -- getting the 14-day
license was a little tricky. On my Eizo, the software used DDC. No such
animal on my CRT.
The results? The software is unable to give me the same visual calibrated
appearance across both systems, because of the different display technology
(read spectrums) involved, I suppose. My D50-calibrated Eizo looks more
yellowish than my D50-calibrated Mitsibishi, which in comparison look smore
bluish and more neutral too. Same instrument, same everything else.
