There seems to be a difference between Photoshop CS rendering to the screen
and GretagMacbeth ProfileEditor v5 rendering to the screen?
I am evaluating a TIFF Lab image strictly made up of neutral patches, from
L* = 0 to L* = 100 (a = b = 0).
If I view the image in Photoshop, the image looks warm with brownish tones.
My Conversion Options are at their defautl values in Color Settings.
But if I view the same image in ProfileEditor, while editing my monitor
profile, the image does not have that warm cast, simply looking more
neutral. The difference is small but visible nevertheless to me. I have not
bothered mesuring it yet.
Both systems AFAIK use the same monitor profile in the same way. My current
screen calibration is 5000K (there is a world of difference between 5000K
and D50, I just found out today).
