Can you alter the "source" or "simulation" profile? Sometimes you are given the option of "none" for that OR you can choose the same profile as the source and destination and that might result in a 'null' transform.
Either way, print a K-only test file through it and then look for 4 color. If you get K only then you're OK to profile it. If you get 4 color then keep trying....
