There is a *very* clear exposition of the concepts behind printer
profiling in a PDFon Giorgio Trucco's website
http://www.gt-photography.com/articles.html I find this to be much
clearer than Bruce Fraser's book when I read that, of course it
doesn't come with a 5000K checker patch :)
A must read for any non-expert on this list (am I the only one ?)
