For example, when I am
printing on Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper, I choose it in Print
Settings and choose Best Photo. Then I choose ColorSync in Color
Management. When I look at the Summary Window before I print, it show
PGPP, Best Photo and ColorSync under Print Settings. But, at the
bottom of the Summary Window under ColorSync, it shows: Color
conversion: standard; Profile: SPR800 standard. Since I have
selected PGPP, shouldn't the profile here be SPR800 PHOTO PAPER (G)?
Epson, with some of their printers, use a single "dummy" profile that will trigger media specific "real" profiles based on the media setting chosen. So there is no direct selection of the specific profile, that occurs invisibly, later in the process.
