Well the Color Settings in the Adobe apps had their RGB working spaces set
to Adobe RGB (1998). Scroll down to "Round 2" at:

This worked. In Quark's Profile Manager I selected the auxiliary directory
~/Library/Colorsync/Profiles directory and switched the Monitor setting in
Quark's prefs to the same as System Prefs > Displays > Color.
I had to turn on Ink Black in the Adobe products soft proof setup to get the
same weak process black Quark displayed to get an exact match between the 3
apps.
But I haven't digested all this yet. Why do we pick an RGB working space in
the Adobe products Color Settings if it is just going to use the OS monitor
profile? Quark seems to make more sense right now (in my wine soaked mind
and belly full of pasta thinking).
