I just installed new Epson drivers (as part of my 4800 installation) and
noticed something disconcerting regarding color management. (This may not be
new, I'm not sure.)
I'm using Photoshop CS under OSX 10.3.9.
When I print from PS, I routinely let Photoshop & the CMM convert from the
source space (generally Adobe RGB 1998) to my print space (generally Epson
PGPP). In the driver's "Printer Color Management" tab, I select "Off (no
color adjustment)" in order to not convert the colors twice. Also, I've
noticed that, in the "ColorSync" tab, the pop-up for Color Conversion has
only one available selection: Standard.
But here's the thing. When I view the "Summary" tab, under ColorSync it says
the following:
Color Conversion: Standard
Profile: System Default
Driver may perform custom color correction: true
Quartz Filter: None
Can anyone explain why the driver may perform color correction in this
situation?
Thanks!
