I've been satisfied with all of the printer, monitor and scanner profiles
I've made with the Pulse so far. The software is pretty dumbed down and
inflexible however (you're forced into their wizardy interface for
everything, printer targets appear to be hard coded in the app, no way to
take a spot reading, and various other gripes about the way the application
is written and structured that probably only matter to other Mac
developers), and the camera profiling module is absolutely worthless in its
current incarnation. I haven't seen Gretag's for comparison as it was
vaporware when I was making my purchasing decision, but I would hope they
might understand how their own camera targets are supposed to be read well
enough to do a better job of it than the Pulse software currently does. I'm
hoping that will get updated soon. It'd be nice if they'd freely license
their XDSIII device interface library to third parties so some of the
software's shortcomings could be worked around, too.
