All targets for making profiles are not tagged with a profile. I fail to understand why you want to introduce one. I don't always want to use the same assigned or default RGB working space when I print. Seems your solution would force me to use the same working space all the time with that profile.

As it is I have to have 4 sets of profiles for the each RGB printer/ paper combination. One for PS and one for ID on the PPC computers and one for PS and one for ID on Intel chip computers and that is just the Mac side. Actually 5 if I am using Canon's 16-bit plugin. At least that is consistent between different processors. I don't know about the Window side of things. The way Adobe has been doing things that would probably involve another set of profiles.

Why not use "Emulate Adobe InDesign 2.0 CMS Off" in the color setting for printing targets? I have never found this not to work.

Yes. My apologies in return for failing to realize that you were attempting
to print to an RGB device (an inkjet printer). In that instance, that option
is grayed out.

You can either use Doyle's solution, or you can print using "Let InDesign
determine colors" with the same print profile as your working space profile
-- what is called a "null" conversion.
