Isn't the 2490 the sRGB unit and the 2690 the wide gamut (93%)? Well I know
the 2690 is wide gamut, I'm looking at one now <g>.
Yes you can compensate for it if you have a EyeOne Pro and a Colorimeter.

Getting back to Chris and Karl's seminar, it seems that the wide gamut units
are in need of Colorimeters with mated filters, or at least, filters that
don't assume sRGB so your question is a good one and, I hope Chris can let
us know why the 2490 would come with a special colorimeter. I thought the
2490 and 2690 were the same expect for size and gamut, the 2490 being
smaller in both cases.
