Extended Audio File was added in 2.1 which is released.
However I have the same issue using AudioFileAPI and AudioConverters,
I assumed that ExtAudio had a problem so dropped down to using an
Audio Converter direct, but it throws an error when I try and make a
converter to decode mp3.
Can anyone shed some light on why making an audioconverter for mp3
doesnt work on the iphone sdk ?

As far as I know, you can use the AudioFile API but not ExtAudioFile
on the iPhone. I'm not sure how you come to the conclusion that AF is
not available from the fact that ExtAF is not.

Now that the NDA for iPhone software has been dropped, is there any
way to
decode mp3 or m4a audio files on the iPhone?
ExtAudioFile returns a permission error when trying to set the
client data
format for a compressed file.
I haven't tried AudioFile yet, but since ExtAudioFile builds on top
of
AudioFile, i assume that AudioFile has the same limitations?
Any ideas?
Thanks a lot!
