So, I take it there there is no way around this problem at present other than to go around my whole project and into every html component and manually correct all the tags? :^( nightmare!

Is there a way to generate code to do this on the fly?

I have done this in Project Wonder, sublassed WODynamicElements care about this very well. We are developing WO applications that generate pure XML which is transformed to HTML using XSLT. Works fine and after correcting some things that were quite slow in the beginning. You can look at ERXPatcher which has some inner static classes that extend the various dynamic elements. Either you can copy the code or you can subclass ERXApplication and ERXSession instead WOApplication and WOSession which brings a lot of other benefits.

Thanks David, phew... saved Jonathan :^)
