It's not sooo long ago, that people have deployed high traffic sites
on machines with much less CPU Power (but mostly faster harddrives
and perhaps equal RAM).
So, I also think, that Mac mini can handle a fair amount of traffic,
especially when you can split the deployment on two or three machines
so easy and cheap.
If the app is well written, tuned, and not doing too much data
intensive stuff you should be able to run two or three instances
comfortably, have concurrent request handling enabled, and keep
response times in the sub-second range.
We have a Dual G4 (Dual 867MHz, 2GB RAM, two fast 100GB IDE drives)
which handles a good amount of traffic. As far as I remember, for
most startups and applications the network bandwidth is the limiting
factor for concurrent users with todays machines, as far as no
"heavy" db access is required for every action.
