Well,
I uninstalled the dev tools, reinstalled them with WO. Removed all
references to Java 5 (I had it set as default).
Still desn't work.
I looked at the NSNumberFormatter class in JavaBrowser. Didn't find
the missing method (but it is probably a private method?).
I looked at the version of the bundle containing that class. It is
correctly set to 5.3.1
The crazy thing is that on another machine, it works...
What can be different on mine??

That's the sort of exception that would be thrown if an incorrect
version of JavaFoundation.framework is being used. When you open
JavaBrowser, do you see the
NSNumberFormatter._addThousandSeparatorsToPattern() method? I'm
not running my WO 5.3.1 partition right now, so I can't check.
