Hello list.
Apparently (but it will be difficult to reproduce) it didn't like the
fact I had a previously installed Java 5 with Java 5 set as default.
Trying to remove the defaults didn't do it.
So I re-installed Java5 and rebooted and it worked. Curious!
Sorry for the trouble.

Still no success, even after reinstalling the complete tools and
removing the jre 1.5. I checked the framework and palette with
another machine.
Something is wrong but no way to debug the problem.
CLASSPATH and JAVA_HOME seem correct (but should not be needed).

Well,
I uninstalled the dev tools, reinstalled them with WO. Removed all
references to Java 5 (I had it set as default).
Still desn't work.
I looked at the NSNumberFormatter class in JavaBrowser. Didn't
find the missing method (but it is probably a private method?).
I looked at the version of the bundle containing that class. It
is correctly set to 5.3.1
The crazy thing is that on another machine, it works...
What can be different on mine??
Thanks,
Alex

Here is what I get in the console for trying to load the palette:

java.lang.NoSuchMethodError

com.webobjects.foundation.NSNumberFormatter._addThousandSeparatorsT
oPattern(NSNumberFormatter.java:1529)
That's the sort of exception that would be thrown if an
incorrect version of JavaFoundation.framework is being used.
When you open JavaBrowser, do you see the
NSNumberFormatter._addThousandSeparatorsToPattern() method? I'm
not running my WO 5.3.1 partition right now, so I can't check.
Aloha,
