Installing bbconfig

I wanted to install bbconfig to customize my blackbox menus. I downloaded
the tarball, unpacked it, cd9d into its directory (it was on my desktop) and
ran ./configure.
I get the following in xterm:
Checking for libpng...no
Checking for libjpeg6b...no
Checking for libjpeg...no
configure:warning libjpeg not found. Disable jpeg support.
Checking for Qt...configure; error: Qt (>=Qt 3.1 20021021))(headers and
library not found please check your installation.
I have used fink commander to install Qt and the jpeg libs. I don9t have
the png lib but that is easy to add. I think something else is hanging the
compiling. Where from here?
(is it easier to just edit the blackboxrc file to change the menu?)
