Basically, true. It's just a "pager", but it's what I want most
seriously! I'm happy with that for now, not expecting so much. ;-)
As far as I can tell Space.app just hides and unhides whole
applications (all the windows associated with an application) as its
"standard" behavior; anything else seems quirky.
I'm not sure what you mean by "anything else". I guess minimization of
windows? I barely use that feature, have no comment on it.
